The Bernette Walking Foot (sometimes known as an even-feed foot) is a sewing machine attachment designed to help feed multiple layers of fabric evenly through the machine. It’s especially useful for working with tricky fabrics or when doing quilting.. It works by having its own set of feed dogs that move in sync with the machine’s feed dogs below the fabric. This ensures the top and bottom layers of fabric move at the same pace.
