Overlockers specialise in stitching over the edge of 2 separate pieces of fabric to prevent fraying and provide a neat finish to multilayered creations.
Overlockers are capable of sewing a higher number of stitches per minute than regular sewing machines. They can also use multiple lines of thread at the same time and can perform stitches that a sewing machine can’t, such as the cutting knife stitch, flatlock stitch and, of course, the overlock stitch.
